09/20/2003 Archived Entry: "Still Working"
As hard as it may be to believe in this current economic situation. I am swamped with work. So I have done very little to the KVM or writing my Linux articles. Maybe I will get a chance around November. One of the things I have been trying to do while I was on the road was get my Slackware laptop to dial up using the modem it has. The lucent winmodem. This has been a weird item as Linux doesn't like winmodems but there are programs that will allow this winmodem to work. Problem is the programs won't compile.
I still also want to work on the cheat sheet with Jason of Chucktips, but I still need a paycheck. It will all come together. It just may take a while.
I have a small note I would like to make. I travel quite a bit for work. I have driven in some god awful places from Miami to countless other major cities and highways. The one area I really hadn't driven in was Washington D.C. . I got to last week. I have been humbled. DC has the worst downtown traffic I have ever been in. I got 1 mile in 1 hour no joke. There wasn't a major wreck or any other major holdup. This is the way it is in DC in the afternoon. And I have to go back. Can I borrow a tank from someone?
Well time to go back to work. Yes, even on a Saturday.

Sorry you're swamped, man. I stumbled across your site looking for KVM schematics. I ran across someone's post on a message board saying there was a simple schematic listed in the August 2002 issue of "Nuts & Volts" magazine. I have no access to this mag, I don't think. I'll let you know if I find anything more.
