This is a very basic diagram of what I am working on trying to understand here. I belive there are a few connections that must be maintained even when switched over. Is it absolutely needed, no. You can unplug a monitor cable on a working PC. However in the interest of trying not to surge or shock the system. I would like to keep some of the lines connected ( per your suggestion ).
I am looking at the pin out as follows:
red
green
blue
monitor ID bit 2
digital Ground
red analog ground
green analog ground
blue analog ground
no connection
synch return (ground)
monitor ID bit 0
monitor ID bit 1
horizontal sync
vertical synch
no connection
I don't think it needs to be any more complicated than this. At least right now. I looking for a multi pole switch or IC chip that will work like this. If you know an IC chip number that does let me know. If I can get this built and tested I will let you know. Sorry for the delays.
